KitsNet server are implemented as a series of guest VMs on a KVM server. Aside from hosting the KVM guest instances, the only functions that execute directly on the KVM host are:

  1. KVM guest management, including serving socat connections to guest serial consoles
  2. Linux RPM repo
  3. Backup to external media
  4. RAID array management
  5. UPS monitoring
  6. Open vSwitch management Extended, fault tollerant virtual network
  7. chrony clock source

No general user access to the KVM host is permitted.
