KitsNet Operations:Services:Mail:Legacy VM Based

There are two KVM guests deployed to implement Mail services in KitsNet:

• mailgw is the email gateway based on the eFa Project and hosts the external facing SMTP service that receives and sends email. This system also implements stringent anti-spam protections.
  • MailWatch supports logins for end-users as well as administrative logins
  • Webmin supports certain administrative functions against the server itself
• mailroom hosts the individual mailboxes assigned to KitsNet users, accessible through IMAP and web from anywhere in the world. Virtual user and mailbox management is hosts on this system.
  • SquirrelMial is used to deploy a webmail service for KitsNet users internal and external to the site
  • postfix.admin is deployed to support administrative access and end user access to mailbox maintenance functions including password reset.
